There are two things going on here before I took the photos on this post. First, we're rarely up and out in the garden early enough to capture snaps of the garden basking in early morning light. But whenever those moments happen, we both remember how flattering morning light is, giving soft glow rather than just illuminating.
And as we got on I took the time to stop for a few moments, to admire the 'jungle' basking in the morning light, and to capture the moment by taking these snaps.
It was almost hard to believe that Saturday was such good weather for a winter's day that Sunday would the complete opposite of it. Well having one day is better than having no good day at all.
The cold weather and snow did arrive as predicted but I'm glad enough I managed to capture moments of that fine Saturday morning.
Mark :-)
Beautiful! I'm glad you had the opportunity to enjoy it. I'm loathe to get up early too but the light is definitely best at that time. As I now shop for groceries every 2 weeks and time my arrival shortly after the market opens, I've seen more sunrises than usual over the last few months. Sadly, although today was marketing day, we were fogged in so picture-taking didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteGood strategy with shopping first thing. We do the inverse, shop late and avoid the crowds, only drawback some things are not in stock by then.
DeleteDarlings,
ReplyDeleteGosh, it is hard to believe that this is in February.
The 'jungle' looks wonderfully green and verdant. So many contrasting and complementing forms and textures, something of interest in every direction. And, how lovely this golden morning light is.
We have no overhead lights indoors. Lamp light, as the first dawn and late sunset show, illuminates everything just sufficiently. It takes years off the complexion and bathes everything in a golden glow.
Thank you Jane and Lance! Nothing like soft lighting to flatter anything it casts its glow on.
DeleteOh gosh it still looks so lush! Even after the recent cold nights. I do hope you're not too many feet under the white stuff. It sounds pretty bad over your way. Take care both.
ReplyDeleteAnd you as well! We're not too bad so far, with daytime temps warm enough to melt whatever snow has fallen before.
DeleteSnow?!?!! The first photo especially looks more like summer than winter. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gail! We're still in the midst of this cold spell and Saturday was such a tease.
Deletethats cool. I wish I had a jungle lol
ReplyDeleteCould be your goal to start this year 😊
DeleteBeautiful! It looks calming and nice to feel. Thank you for sharing :)
