One of the things I love at this time of the year is seeing all the new growth all over the garden. The new flush of growth, almost of them just looks so vibrant, so fresh!

You can't beat fresh, spring foliage! How do you like the Akebia? I've been thinking of trying to plant it somewhere, but wasn't sure if it had enough to offer.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Alan :) I rate it highly, remaining lush almost all year round and reasonably vigorous. The white flowered form might appeal to you more, or the three leaved one which is Akebia trifoliata.
DeleteI love the fresh new foliage of spring too. Yours all looks so bright and lovely and lush. And of course, your Veratrum nigrum (unlike mine) is completely perfect and un-nibbled on.
ReplyDeleteI thought it would be best to take a pic of that veratrum before it gets nibbled on Alison :)
DeleteIt's a wonderful time of year. That aesculus is spectacular! I love watching ferns unfurl. Matteucia is beautiful in all it's stages.
ReplyDeleteThe pink of the aesculus is starting to fade now Evan, but it was fun whilst it lasted :)
DeleteI continue to be in awe of your collection!
ReplyDeleteSentiments exactly the same to your collection Loree! :)
DeleteA day or two of rain and the world turns green. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Jessica :) just wished it didn't bring strong winds with it too which we had. The last couple of days
DeleteI can see why you would be excited. Your garden is looking gorgeous with all that bright green, new growth. Not a blemish to be seen!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy :) some will be blemished later but while they look pristine best to take photos
DeleteI like so much new growth, the vibrant green is so beautiful and the excitement to see the happy plants waking up from the winter is a nice feeling. The new growth in your garden is very interesting!! and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa :) just love all the new growth in spring!
DeleteGorgeous new growth! Aesculus x neglecta 'Erythroblastos' is especially nice!
ReplyDeleteThought you'd like that Peter :)
DeleteNo slaps earned for this kind of fresh.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that Epimedium!
