Last summer we ordered a selection of plants from Crug Farm, nothing unusual in that I hear you say. Well not quite, the order and delivery were fairly standard... apart from everything from the order, selection and delivery was filmed for an upcoming BBC TV Show.
The new series of Modern Times, continues next week (BBC Thursday 12 February at 9pm) with 24 Hour Parcel People. Ahead of that showing the BBC have released a clip of the show.
We wont say any more until the show, don't want to give away any spoilers...

It's pretty exciting to see a garden in person that you've only ever seen photographed before -- like Loree's garden in Portland last summer -- but seeing it on TV (or TV alternative) might be even more exciting! There are the blue pots in front... and the koi pond... and the white, white sunroom! Yay! :D
ReplyDeleteSeeing the clip this afternoon was the first time we caught glimpse of some of the footage they have taken of us and the garden. It was a wonderful experience taking part in the show. Looking forward to seeing the full episode ourselves Alan :)
DeleteHomage to the box is a very blogger thing to do. It was fun to see you two in action and the garden in video looking so lush. I remember you posting about the delivery but not about the show.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you took note of that Shirley :) they know we're bloggers and that has a great influence on our behaviour when receiving a parcel. We had to keep quiet about the show hence didn't mention it when we made 'that' post.
DeleteI know you will not be spoiled by stardom.
ReplyDeleteLol Ricki!
DeleteSo exciting! Not having had the privilege of meeting you two in Porltand, I loved "meeting" you this way!
ReplyDeleteHi Alison, am I right that you're going to the Toronto fling? If so really looking forward to meeting you there :))
DeleteRenowned bloggers and now TV stars too!
ReplyDeleteHaha barely :))
DeleteOhh I loved this :D :D!!!! I want to see more!!!! I love when plants arrive home like that!! It is so exciting!! and you both are the first people from a TV show I´ve met :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa :) it's only a brief appearance but really enjoyed taking part, good fun!
DeleteOh how fun! I was worried Gaz wouldn't be making an appearance so was relieved when he got home. I want to see more!!!
ReplyDeleteMore next week Loree, hope you'll get to see it? :)
DeleteOh, how exciting - both the plants and the TV-show! I can't wait to see it! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get to see it there Anna :)
DeleteWhat fun. Can wait to see the rest.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't seen the finished product in its entirety ourselves Patricia. I'm gearing myself to cringe loads :)
DeleteLoved seeing your garden in the clip ... and the new kitchen too. Even better seeing you and hearing you both speak :)
ReplyDeleteAhh glimpses of the kitchen, they managed to sneak some clips of it Rosie :)
DeleteBrilliant! I am SO pleased you talk to your plants too! It's fab to see summer and the garden and to hear you two chatting. Marvellous. I think all our plant deliveries should have a film crew in tow.
ReplyDeleteI not only talk to plants I talk to myself too at times, hehe :) nice to re reminded of summer Sarah, boy do I miss it!
DeleteSaw this first thing this morning and it really made me smile. Love your reaction when the parcel arrived - that would have been mine too! (Especially a parcel from Crug Plants!) I was just scrolling through the other comments when I saw Sarah's comment - just what I was thinking! I love that you talk to your plants too - and that you took a pic through the handle hole to send to Gaz - that's just so sweet! Lovely to see you both 'on telly', will look out for the prog when it's aired. Caro x
ReplyDeleteThanks Caro :) I was smiling from ear to ear when I first saw the clip, and yes cringing too. It's weird to hear your own voice. Looking forward to seeing the entire show.
DeleteWhoo hoo!! Famous at last!
ReplyDeleteOh how exciting guys! You can now film stars to your credentials. Lovely to see you in the flesh as it were. Will look out for the full programme.
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh Anna! Ditto, looking forward to seeing the full programme :)
DeleteI shall reserve any sarcastic comments until I've watched the whole thing.:-) You both look good ( well scrubbed) and the garden looks fab.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the clip above, it was nice to be reminded of summer Don :)
DeleteThat was a really great little clip; bet it took ages to film. It was nice to put faces to names; blogging creates a strange situation where I feel I know you but have never met you! Will now watch the whole show avidly! Helen
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen :) We haven't see the finished programme ourselves so we're looking forward to seeing it. Hoping to visit Sissinghurst this year, will give you a nudge if we do
DeleteSo now you are famous! (But you were already famous.) I enjoyed the clip, and it is great to have voices attached to the photos.
ReplyDeleteBarely Debs :) I'm getting myself ready to cringe on Thursday. Very excited though of course!
DeleteI'm so behind with catching up with your blog so missed the clip and missed the programme! You are natural TV stars! looking forward to watching on iPlayer.
