"a fascinating, cautionary tale"?!? Oh my! Was able to watch the clip with the lady who had a closet full of outfits for her little dogs. Thought only Americans did stuff like that.
Unfortunately episodes not available for viewing in the US without a proxy UK IP address. Time to turn on the computer nerd part of my brain again.
It's what happened with City Link (the focus of the documentary) since filming summer of last year Gail, it went into administration last Christmas. Poignant ending...
I watched the programme and thought the names Mark and Gaz rang a bell. I have seen your comments on Rusty Duck. You both had staring roles, well done, and I thought that your garden was fabulous.
Thanks Anna, glad to hear that! Shame what happened to City Link though, what could have been a cheerful documentary became poignant and elegiac. Some good news that DPD and Royal Mail did take on some of the ex employees.

This gardening blog follows our journey as we create our Tropical and Exotic themed garden. We hope you'll enjoy the journey as much as we do. We started our Exotic Garden in 2005 and this site will show its development, as well as our travels, both abroad and within the UK to gardens, nurseries and friends. See also our full about page
So exciting! Hope I'll be able to find a link to watch it soon...
ReplyDeleteHopefully you'll get a way to watch it via BBC iPlayer Alan :)

I enjoyed the earlier clip - it's too bad BBC America never airs shows like this.

ReplyDeleteTo watch this episode outside the UK, install the Hola Better Internet extension in Google Chrome, then select the UK from the list of countries. Now go to the BBC iPlayer page for 24-Hour Parcel People and you're ready to go.
I watched it and was very excited seeing you and your garden! :)
