Day Three on our holiday, doesn't time start to fly by when you are away!
It was another mix of gardens and nurseries today starting out at Lower Kenneggy Nurseries. (see here for our visit last year) and then onto Trevena Cross nursery which is fairly close by.
Both have a reputation for having a great selection of exotic, unusual or rare plants, in particularly Lower Kenneggy where much is propagated on site by Steve Mules.
After lunch in the Queens Arms Pub, we headed to Trebah Garden which is a long established Cornish Valley Garden. We will feature this garden in a blog in its own right in due course but had to share a few photos today.
On route we stopped off for a walk in the stunning Cornish countryside.
Trebah is a long established garden, with a number of interesting new introductions as well.
Quite a brief post today, but we will cover Trebah in more detail once we are home.
Gaz :)

Wow! incredible garden!!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed Lisa :)
DeleteI can't believe how many nurseries and gardens there are in what is a fairly small area, at least by U.S. standards. You're lucky that the two of you share the same passion for plants; my family would have rebeled already. I get a great deal of eye rolling just for wanting to visit one or two nurseries when we're on vacation.
ReplyDeleteWe're both glad we have a passion for the same hobby, makes it easier for the both of us to fully indulge in it :)
DeleteAre you two permanently on holiday - popping home for a quick bit of decking renovation, before jetting away somewhere else?!! You've had brilliant weather ! Enjoy the rest of your hols! I am profoundly envious.
ReplyDeleteI wish we were! :)
DeleteThe colors are so vivid it is almost other-worldly. Wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteWe got the timing right Ricki, especially at Trebah. The spring colours are glorious!
DeleteGlad you are enjoying Cornwall - not sure the weather is going to last the week though. Trebah looking great!
ReplyDeleteWe are Jeremy, we always do :) just glad that the weather's been fab for most of it
DeleteI'm really enjoying your postcards from Cornwall - can see what the attraction is for you guys with all that exotic planting. I've noted one or two places to hopefully visit next time we are in that part of the country. Must be great to go on holiday with another plantaholic!
ReplyDeleteIndeed Anna :) so many amazing places here!
DeleteYou've had the best of the weather so far. Like you I'll visit gardens in any conditions - but it's so much better when it's warm and sunny. Enjoy your holiday.
ReplyDeleteThanks John! Places do look extra nice when its sunny and warm, and much more comfy for the visitor too!
DeleteI am with Anna, wonderful to be able to go on holiday and BOTH want to do the plants and gardens thing. I love Trebah, one of my favourite Cornish gardens though I haven't been for years.
