Mark and Gaz
Whilst the show gardens grab most of the attention and headlines, the Great Pavilion is home to a far wider range of plants and smaller displays.
The displays covering a full range of interests from the bright and colourful flowers...

Binny Plants won a silver Gilt for their display |
To the Bright and Colourful furniture!

Hilliers large garden won them another Gold medal this year, making it 68 in a row!
Many of the nursery stands have interesting displays like this from Lydiate Barn nurseries

I love the Trewidden display. Many of my favorite plant groups in one place :-).
ReplyDeleteI thought you would Gerhard :)
DeleteWow...I have to hand it to Hilliers...it's not often you see a garden that's contemporary AND romantic...nice melding of styles!
ReplyDeleteWe do love the colour scheme they have this year Scott, which they termed as 'risky'. But the different shades of pink accented by orange and red does look great and refreshing (and romantic!).
DeleteThese shows are exhausting to attend. Just imagine exhaustion x 4 as an exhibitor.
ReplyDeleteYou got that right Ricky. It was a very enjoyable two days there but yes we were also exhausted by Tuesday night and still recovering now. It was a fantastic two days though and back for more on Saturday!
DeleteLove the Trewidden and Crug displays especially but they're all gorgeous! The single white peony with the huge boss of yellow anthers in the Binny display is amazing, like the petals are holding the sun inside.
ReplyDeleteThose two are our favourites as well Peter :)
DeleteBeautiful displays. The amount of blooms is amazing. Lots of hard work to build up to these displays. Would imagine they're all exhausted even before the first spectator even walks in the door.
ReplyDeleteCher Sunray Gardens
It can be very nerve wracking and exhausting for the exhibitors Cher, with months of preparation beforehand and waiting for the results. Plus attending to the stands for a week. But the benefits are there and is all worth it :)
DeleteFantastic displays guys. I quite like Hilliers colour palette, very uplifting.
ReplyDeleteYay for the Garden Club of America representation... And that Thai display... Wow, just wow...
ReplyDeleteSo much to see! Hilliers is fabulous. Not sure I'd want that pink in my own garden, but I have to admit it's very impressive. I love that they paired all that pink with grey and a touch of black.
ReplyDeleteTalk about over the top! I don't think I could cope.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color and I enjoy seeing these photos! Jeannine
